CRC Trefolex Magic Cutting Compound is a green active cutting paste containing a colloid for continuous lubrication during low-speed metal-cutting operations. The viscous compound does not run off or evaporate, remaining in place while frictional heat causes it to melt slowly across the cutting area. This sustained lubrication helps produce clean cuts and threads without tearing, while significantly improving thread quality and extending the working life of taps, dies, hacksaws, reamers and other hand tools.
The compound is recommended for pipe screwing, hacksawing, tapping and reaming across steel, aluminium, copper, brass and stainless steel. It will not corrode steel or adversely affect aluminium and is particularly suited to stainless-steel work. Copper and brass surfaces may darken during use, but the metal is not detrimentally affected. Trefolex Cutting Compound is strictly intended for hand tools and low-speed cutting operations and must not be used where high temperatures may be generated.
