The MCHT HSS Metric Coarse Taper Tap Range is designed for cutting accurate internal metric threads by hand or machine. Precision manufactured in Europe from high-speed steel to ISO 529, these general-purpose taps provide the durability and cutting performance required for workshop, fabrication, maintenance and production applications.
Each tap features a taper lead extending over eight threads, allowing gradual engagement with the workpiece to assist alignment and reduce cutting load during the start of a new thread. A 2N tolerance provides an optimum thread fit, while the range is suitable for threading steel, aluminium, copper, brass and other compatible materials when used with an appropriate cutting lubricant.
