Chemtools Tap-N-Cool Straight Cutting Compound is a soft, non-staining metalworking paste formulated for high-performance machining across all metal types, including yellow metals. Its high film strength and extreme-pressure additives provide lasting lubrication during extruding, tapping, cutting, reaming, pressing and forming. The anti-corrosive and anti-wear formulation rapidly reduces and dissipates heat without producing noxious fumes, helping improve dimensional stability while protecting cutting tools, fixtures and component surfaces.
Formulated from solvent-refined mineral oils with a lanolin base, Tap-N-Cool supports a rust-free working environment and helps extend the service life of hand tools and heavy-duty power tools. Its smooth paste consistency remains where applied, allowing a liberal coating to be placed directly onto the cutting area. The compound is non-toxic and biodegradable and is suitable for all metal types. Surfaces should be clean and free from dirt, contaminants and old grease before application.
